Nasreddin Hodja is a verry popular and humorous figure in the Turkish islamic world. His historical existence is not verified. Probably he existed in Anatolia during the 13. or 14 century. Nasreddin Hodja is often riding a donkey, looking backwards. In September 2006 such a sculpture was located at the intersection of Rubens, Vandermeersch and Gallait streets in Schaerbeek (Brussels). After a while it was vandalised. In 2019 the old and vandalised sculpture has been removed by the local administration. […]

When the first graffiti pencil appeared in Brussels can no longer be determined exactly. It must have been around 2010. Since then, an anonymous group of graffiti artists has enriched the European capital and its suburbs with some hundred very different pencil […]
For many years, the Sculpture Monumentale exhibition has been held in September in Square Armand Steurs, a small and very beautiful park in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode (Brussels/Belgium). In 2021, the 29th of this exhibition took place. The exhibition is organised by the association „Les Amis du Square Armand Steurs“. Michel Delabaye, who is curating the exhibition, deserves much of the credit for its success. Support for the exhibition is provided by the municipality of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, the Brussels Region and the French-speaking Community […]

Originally, the „General Blumenthal“ mine was located there. It was shut down several years ago. Since then, the area has become overgrown. The city council of Herne and the city administration want to build a technology centre on part of the wasteland. Some citizens do not want this. […]
Recently (December 2021) I discovered this art project on the canal Bruxelles Charleroi in the Molenbeek area (Brussels/Belgium – Quai du Hainaut, close to Porte de Ninove). An artist – I don’t know who – shows faces of different people. Alle Fotos: Jürgen Klute | CC BY-NC-SA 4.0
